A fatal car accident that happened on Thanksgiving morning has been ruled an accident.

Illinois State police say Timothy Stricklin, 29, was drunk driving at the time of the accident on Dykersburg Road in rural Williamson County. Police trooper Robert Ventura told a Williamson County coroner’s judge on Monday morning that Stricklin had a blood alcohol content of .172 which is more the double the legal limit.

Ventura says, the car was traveling approximately 65 miles per hour at the time of the car accident. He says Stricklin’s car was airborne more than 66 feet before crashing into several trees and coming to a rest in the woods. Stricklin’s family lived just down the road from the scene of the crash.
